I am outraged at george Bush's hypocrisy. He claims to be pro-life, yet he favors the death penalty. You cannot be pro-life and support killing human beings, even criminals. Bush's basis for opposing abortion is saying that we don't have the right to decide who lives, so why do we have the right to exercise the death penalty? I realize that there is a difference between a fetus and a convicted criminal, but when it comes down to it, calling yourself pro-life yet condoning government sanctioned killings is hypocrisy.

Yeah there is a differance between a fetus and a convited crimnal. The Criminal is definatly living on conscious. Why would bush suport one but not the other? Hmmm... Could it possibly that a large percentage of middle america thinks this and it would be the best way to get more votes? I'm guessing thats why.

Why should we bow to the will of anyone? Especialy a man who our country but another voted for?

There's nothing wrong with being pro-life and pro-death penalty.

The real hypocrites are those who are the exact opposite -  pro-choice/anti-death penalty

They claim that it's wrong to rid the world of horrible murderers, but claim that killing innocent children is perfectly okay.

If that's not hypocritical then I don't know what is.

You do have a point but they are both hypocritical. The difference being that nobody knows for certain whether a fetus is conscious or not. Also criminals are likly to have living relative. Yes so does the fetus but if they want abortion then there living reletives well put bluntly, don't want that fetus.

People who are pro-life believe that unborn babies are still alive and human.  People who are pro-death penalty believe that people who perform enough serious evil acts deserve to be killed.

Thus, people who believe in both simply believe that innocent life should be sustained, and evil should be destroyed.  There is no hypocrisy in that.

For this scenario to work out we would have to be called:

Pro-life-sometimes.

Pro-choice-sometimes.

or

Pro-life-with the exception of the death penalty

Pro-choice-with the exception of the death penalty

Pro-lifers call abortion murder but it isn't or it would be illegal as I type this right now, that’s a fact. Giving someone a lethal injection because they are "Evil" should be murder in a pro-lifers eyes too but its not because they can justify his death. "He deserves it, has a bad person" Yeah, lets forget about actually HELPING these people. Lets forget about rehabilitating them into a productive member of society. Killing them is so much easier. Thats jsut as selfish as a woman aborting because the child would get in the way of her lifestyle.

The hypocrisy is so raw it hurts to think about it sometimes. How can we all be so blind? Its pathetic we call ourselves the most intelligent creatures on the planet.

Yeah there is a big difference...babies are innocent they havent had time to sin or do bad things...but criminals are criminals...but yeah im against abortion and the death sentence...I think they should rot in there cells...I think that would be the worse punishment...

Your accusation would lead one to believe that an unborn baby is on the same "level" as a serial killer. As much as I hate Bush, I do agree with him on both issues.

I don't care for Bush's morals. We shouldn't be arguing about his opinions.

What makes Bush bad above all else is his policies. Which are horrible. And I mean horrible.

Especially education, although that isn't one of the more critical issues. No Child Left Behind makes poor people more poor and ruins the social and in some cases educational life of an underprivileged student.

Meh I can't talk about it anymore.

I wish I could tell whether this debate is more or less between Bush or Abortion.

Pro-life is an expression that is usually considered in abortion issues. This is the first time I've had this view challenged with the death penalty law.

There is a difference between a baby and a criminal. But reintroducing such criminals back into society is another matter altogether. Letting them live is another matter. I believe that a person can be pro-saving the life of an innocent baby- and also -killing a criminal for his crimes.

Criminals need to understand that there will be as harsh a penalty for certain crimes for the simple reason to discourage them from doing so. There must be a penalty for doing wrong, and it is hardly wrong or ridiculous to be in favor of such a thing. Nobody contradicts himself by upholding both views.

-------
I want to know facts for both sides, and I will not take biased words as a valid arguement for whatever reason.
