Just a comment here, How many people each year DIE from cigarrettes? How many people each year DIE from alcohol? How many people's lives are destroyed due to alcohol abuse whether to  domestic violence, liver and kidney damage death from drunk drivers, overdose's etc..
Have you ever heard of anyone getting high and beating someone to death? Or maybe getting in a car and driving like a bat out of hell only to kill some little school kid at the bus stop..well have you? I didnt think so.
Weed comes from nature, it was put here by the higher being that put US here, so to say the marijuana illegal is to basically say that God made a mistake. Who are we to judge God?
How many people out there know's someone who is sick or has died from tobacco or alcohol due to lung cancer or throat cancer liver disease? I bet most do.
I believe the reason why they wont legalize it is because they wont make money off of it. Look how much money hospitals make for treating cancer patients, how much they make off of alcohol treatment programs..the list could go on and on but im sure you get the picture. They wont make anything off of weedaholics anonymous because ther's no such thing. Unless you have an addictive personality then you could be addicted to just about anything i guess. Dont get me wrong if you smoke everyday then you cant get any sure you'll be a little edgy, but if they they took coffee off the market, could you imagine how many pissed off people would be out there.
Gateway is BS too, if your a weak minded pinhead with no self control, of course you'll sucomb to peer pressure and try the other hard core drugs that are MAN MADE and full of deadly chemicals.
So go on with your anti marijuana statements, i dont buy it. I've been smoking for 15 years have a college degree and go to work EVERYDAY, hasnt messed my life up.
As with anything there is no need to go overboard, be responsible dont base your daily life on getting high and you'll be just fine.

P.s. Go drink a 12pk of beer and tell me how you feel the next morning. Go and smoke 12 joints and tell me how you feel in the morning.
Go and drink those 12 beers again and when you wake up with a hangover fire up on of those joints then tell me how you feel. You'll seem to forget all about the hangover.

                               Be smart not stupid

"Have you ever heard of anyone getting high and beating someone to death?": Yes
"Or maybe getting in a car and driving like a bat out of hell only to kill some little school kid at the bus stop..well have you?": Seen it happen

"Weed comes from nature, it was put here by the higher being that put US here, so to say the marijuana illegal is to basically say that God made a mistake. Who are we to judge God?"  Yes, "God" put it here, but "he" also put metals to make weapons, poisons to kill children with uncareful parents, and a capacity to kill in our minds.  Not everything "God" makes is necessarily good.

I think that last statement is very true....then again the first one was too...But god has nothing to do with this. And we responsible smokers are given bad names by these thugs that get drugged up on weed AND other shit like cocaine. They are irresponsible. And then again....alchohol is far worse killing innocent lives every day. Is it illegal?   Nope...and that is very unfair

Pot has NEVER killed anyone in the history of mankind. The only reason people die is because some people are assholes who would kill just for the money, NOT because weed made them do it. Legalizing or at least decriminalizing it would bring down such organized crime and killings, dont you think?  And besides, alcohol and tobbacco are legal and are BIG sources that cause death ( tobbacco is more because you develop a craving for it, alcohol you can control. but if you decide to drive after drinking, thats your own risk.) Making pot legal or something would be a lot better than ruining someones life by arresting them just for having as little as a gramsworth on them!

ARE YOU SERIOUS?  If no one has died from weed then why is it illegal?  What if someone gets high and OH SHARP OBJECT, SHINY, I WANT TO TOUCH, WOW WHERE IS THAT RED LIQUID COMING FROM?  LET ME STOP IT WITH THIS TOWEL, I FEEL WEIRD, LETS GO TO THE ER,  WOW LOOK AT THAT DOUGHNUT WALKING DOWN THE HIGHWAY, I'M GOING TO HIT IT.

This debate, as do most, reminds me of a t-shirt in the movie Happy Gilmore "Guns don't kill people, I kill people".  It is not alchohol that kills somebody, it is their inability to control themselves by not driving or drinking too excessivly.  It is not the guy that got high and killed the poor kid getting off the school bus, it is his poor decision making that killed the kid.  It all boils down to how much you value your personal freedom.  Do you make pot illegal so you make that decision for the guy (even though it probably won't stop him) in order to protect your own child, or do you make it legal in order to protect your right to do what makes you happy?  Is it the cliff's fault when a man decides to jump to his death?  Personally, I think we should designate controlled zones where people can do all the drugs they desire, so long as they do no harm to anyone else.  And if they decide to overdose, what does the world have to lose besides another drug addict?
