I am concerned with the idealism of the republicans in this country.

They think that children should be taught abstinence ONLY. don't teach them about condoms, or birth control of any kind.

It is proven that this only puts off sexual activity for a short while, but ultimately leads toa  higher rate of STD's and teen pregnancy, due to lack of knowledge of how to prevent it/

Now the kids are pregnant and the same people who wouldn't teach them how to avoid getting pregnant are telling them that they can't get an abortion either.

The government leadership is creating a generation of teenage parents who are ruiining their lives.

Many will argue that the kids shouldn't have had sex in the first place, but this is how things are. the number of teens having sex is never goign to decrease no matter how much you shove abstinance down their young throats

Does anyone else see that americas youth is being put betweena  rock and a hard place.

Just always remember something, ignorance is bliss.  Let me just say in short, that you really need to do some research when you make "facts" because you have nothing to back any of that up.  If you want to do some research and prove any of your statements, that would be fine by me.  the thing is, is you can keep messing with the surface of all these problems, when we "conservatives" look to the core.  Let me ask you a question.  If you keep cutting weeds from the top, are they going to grow back?  Thats why ill stick to pulling the roots.  You can say what you want, and i agree that things aren't going to change anytime soon.  The reason?  Becuase we have immoral people out their like yourself that imbed these "safe" ways of having sex into children, so we can fullfill a hole that is only to be filled with God.  We need parents to teach their children the way of the Lord, not the way of a rubber.  Im out

What about athiests, should they have religion forced on them, and abstinace, thats like forceing christians to have sex. Sex is enjoyable and if I don't see it as a gift from god for marriage I'm going to go out and have sex but I will do it "safely"

Why should we bow to the will of anyone? Especialy a man who our country but another voted for?

Your in a religious forum so reference to atheism is going to be minute. But you are right, we should respect what choices you have made and how you live your life. I promise to show a bit more understanding to your views.

Sex, I will agree is very enjoyable which makes it bad. To do things for pleasure, is to fulfil your own desires, which is sin. To use sex for reproductive purposes to strengthen Yahweh's church, is a noble deed. It is not the actions, it is the motive behind them. Thats what determines whether you are a good Christian or not. Christians have alot of responsibilities and the more knowledge of the faith you have, the more that is expected of you. In atheism, the only place you are fortunate is that you are ignorant to religious practice and obligation. Ignorance is bliss, so not as much is expected of you. Where you lack, in my opinion, is that you do not believe in Yahweh and have no true meaning to you life except to live it. After you die, thats it. I hurt because you see no, what I consider to be, joy in you life. Not personal joy but true joy.

so, just wondering, to be truly faithful to God, we must only ever have sex when we are married and in order to procreate? Is that the gist of it? Please confirm.

Just to let you know, i believe in God and would consider myself Christian. Yet i'm almost certain i will have sex before i am married, and i will also use contraception (for some reason, i believe avoiding pregnancy is better than aborting an unborn child). I do not believe that God would have given humans sex simply for procreation - i believe we are here on this earth to simply experience life as we know it, and for me that does involve premarital sex with contraception.

Sex is enjoyable so we reproduce. If it were bad, and people thought it was bad, they wouldn't reproduce. If it were not enjoyable (and an instinct) life would cease to exist.

So long to the human race.

Your statement makes absolutely no sense.

Sex is not just for reproduction.  The bible even states that if a husband and wife decide to abstain from each other (even to dedicate that time wholeheartedly to God) that they should do so only for a season.  That being said, sex is to be enjoyed (I know, not a very Catholic view of things) by two responsible, consenting adults that have pledged their lives together through matrimony.

My point was quite simple. To say sex is enjoyable and therefore bad makes no sense.

Sex, is primarily an instinctive process which allows reproduction.

Now, whether the bible tells you to abstain or kill a bird if you have sex or the bible tells you your unclean because you had sex or whatever, it doesn't take away from the biological fact that sex is a process of reproduction. No matter how evil the bible may make it sound.

Where do you get the idea that the Bible says sex is bad?

You are apparently reading appiritions. I didn't say the bible said it was bad. I was quoting what the person above said. All I said about the bible was that irrespective of how unclean it makes you (As we are told in Leviticus), sex is a reproductive process.
