The Deaf, The Dumb, and The Blind
You who blindly go to "church." You listen to spirits of darkness that "preach the word" and call themselves "pastors." I say to you: Don't carnally cling to verses such as 1 John 4:15, "Whosoever shall confess that Jesus is the Son of God, God dwelleth in him and he in God." Don't reassure yourselves in your sins and say, "These people are good. They confess that Jesus is the Son of God." The word is first spiritual. Otherwise why did DEVILS (Matt. 8:29; Mark 3:11, 5:7; and Luke 4:41, 8:28) cry out CONFESSING that Jesus is the Son of God?
You deaf, dumb, and blind. Jesus says that sin can exist entirely within the heart though the outward person appears ever so righteous and Christian. "Having a similitude of godly living, but have denied the power thereof and such abhor" (2 Tim. 3:5). They do not have the power of God within themselves because they do not keep the commandments of God within their hearts. They keep an outward show of righteousness. Do we greet such people with friendly conversation? No, we are to ABHOR them.
You deaf, dumb, and blind. Don't believe your own superstitions as you reason, "Surely good Christian people go to church." You seek out teachers and pastors, those doctors of dunces darkness. With their vain and meaningless reprimands, they fill your need for a fleshly authority figure. They would have you willingly ignorant of our Lord's warning that a Christian pays no heed to the voices of hirelings. Jesus states that if we have ears to hear, we can and must discern the spiritual voices of true Christians versus pretenders, hirelings, and wolves (John 10:5). But your ears are waxed dull. You have subjected yourselves too long unto the voices and company of foul spirits.
You deaf, dumb, and blind. Paul warned that after his departing, grievous wolves would enter in and take over the name of Christ. Since then the true church has "come away from her," the world system of churches rooted in Rome/Babylon that abominable cage for every foul and unclean spirit (Rev. 18). Church-goers are entombed forever in their fleshy church offices created by and for carnal minds and appetites. Yet believers seek a better path. Use the modern English version of Tyndale's 1534 translation as a guide. We can be free to know God's will and establish true churches: informal relations among friends and families. In the true church we are all priests (1 Peter 2:9). In the true church we recognize that "gifts, callings, and offices" are spiritual and invisible. They are recognized by each believer's conscience. In the true church we suffer because we love meekness and truth. Don't deceive yourselves. God is not mocked.
