I relate my theory to why extraterrestrials have not made contact with us humans to the Human Zoo Hypothesis, that ET's choose to observe us rather than integrate themselves into our lives.
Ask yourselves this, why do we choose to observe animals through protective barriers?
Simply because they are dangerous and a threat to our physical well being.
But why do we not simply eradicate these animals for our own safety?
Because we have compassion, we realise that these animals have as much right to live as we do, and we realise their importance to the ecological balance.
Now ask yourselves another question. What will the human race do if we discover an  alien civlization sometime in the distant future. An intelligent race with a less advanced technology, a technology perhaps as advanced as we have today BUT a race that cant even live in peace with each other. A race which is constantly at war with each other, a race which destroys it's own simply because of differences in religious or political ideals. Would the human race be willing to announce itself to this new world?
No of course not, because of the threat they would be to us. That does not mean we would simply leave them to their own devices and forget about them. We would choose to observe them perhaps in the hope that they would develop enough, intellectually, to learn to live peacefully amongst themselves and therefore be less of a threat to us.
Perhaps this is how ET's see us, as a dangerous, intellectually undeveloped species which should be left alone to fight its wars, to destroy itself without destroying them in the process?

I kinda agree with both of you guys. There isn't any proof that extraterrestrials AREN'T out there, but then again there isn't any proof that they ARE out there. I think there might be, but none who have the capabilities that we do.

The burden of proof is the responsibility of those that make the claim.  Inefekt claimed that she believes extraterrestrials are fact.  Therefore, it is up to them to provide the evidence that supports their assertions.  You can't disprove a negative.
