the question is:

is it ethical for a compnay to include as a criteria the university (college) an applicant graduated from?

i was tasked to debate on the PRO side so i need some reasons on why it is ok?

thanks a lot for this

Yes.

"Master's Degree in Computer Science from Stanford" means a whole lot more than "Master's Degree in Computer Science from Northeast Arkansas State Community College".

Absolutely, although a degree is a degree, but the intensity of the school and curriculum is necessary to pick the correct candidate for that position.

Sounds like the real criteria would be the quality of graduated applicants, and many are known for their excellent standards and quality of graduates.
