I was thinking about  the Movie wiht Ashley Judd that delt with the term Double Jepordy. I was wondering is it really true about how you can be innocent of a certain crime but be triend and prosecuted for it, serve your time and get out of jail. Well then because you were innocent of this crime the first time can you really go out and commit the crime for real and get away for free, without be prosecuted again for the crime? If any one can help me on this matter I would greatly appreciate it alot. I am really trying to clear thie issue up. I hate how movies protray these so called "laws" that are not true. Thanks

There are probably ways to ge around the double jeopardy law, I'm sure.  I saw the movie, and I doubt someone would eb able to get away with the actual murder of a person after they were mistakenly convicted of it earlier. Probably because of differences in the situation itself--the second time around, it *will* be a different scenario, at a different time, possibly for a different reason. And thus a different murder.

The law is really only meant to protect people like OJ Simpson, if sudden evidence surfaces proving without a doubt that he's guilty. No matter what, it's too late to convict him of murdering Nicole.

Anyway, that's my understanding.
