Yes.  It is pointless anyways, if people know others and tell names and such.

Insolvent? probably not if taking the feedback of the whole society into the fanancial report. Reasonable taxation used as cost of construction of infrastructure to economic development may translate billions of dollars into increase of GDP and accordingly, bring more money into individuals' pockets.

Complete laissez faire is nothing but a nightmare.  If governments did not tax, crimes would go so rife that we were living through chaos and exreme unsafety.

Everyone knows Social Security is in trouble! We have heard the Seantors and Congressmen Postulating on "Fixing Social Security" for the last ten plus years! Yet Nothing as of this date has been done about the problems.
We all know that our Senators and Congressmen DO NOT pay into nor recieve any benefits from the S.S. system. Instead they voted thierselfs a retirement system that "Normal Americans" could only dream of having! 100% of thier anual salaries!!
One way we as Citisens of  America could FORCE them to fix S.S. is.
By demanding that they give up thier cinderella retirement packages and go on S.S. for thier retirement like the rest of us!
These Senators and Congressmen have Voted themselfs a "Sweetheart Deal" for THIER retirement and could care less about the rest of US! This should be quite obvious as they continue to "Pander" the S.S. issue for years to come.

Social security is a joke.  Why the government ever decided to start taking money out of our checks and "saving it" for us is beyond me.  If they hadn't taken it out of my check I could've saved it myself.  Another example of government thinking we are all idiots.  Now if they'd only invested it in Google we wouldn't be discussing this.

Social Security in the US is applied only to the government building up a pension for you?

What about financial government aid for people who cannot work, who lost their jobs, etc.?

Hmmm.  I wonder what people did before Welfare was created.  I'm pretty sure it reads "promote the general welfare", not "provide the general welfare".  Then again, it's been years, my memory may be faulty.

Yes, unfortunately, because of the way SS has been "borrowed from" and setup, you're not actually saving your money for your social security... you are spending your money to pay for the previous generations' social securities...

That sounds like a good idea. But what if I don't like Google, and do not want to support it in any way?

Chuckle.  I simply meant that if they'd invested social security money instead of using the funds for other things, we wouldn't be worried about it going insolvent.

I got what you were saying. I'm only saying that my money should only be used for things that I say it should be used for.

That's a nice thought, but it won't work.  Some people are pacifists... how do we ear mark their taxes to not fund DoD?  Some believe you should work for your money... how do we set their taxes aside to not fund welfare?  And on and on and on... Social Security is a tax, not a "personal savings account"  (not saying it wouldn't be nice if it were, just that it's not).
