Hello,

I'm a Swedish lawyer and writer and recently met an American girl at a party. What she said has made me think a lot about fundamenal outlook on crime/lifeand now I am curious. Some how we came to discuss crime (in general). She was pro death penalty since there are "persons born evil" or "born criminal". Obvioulsy I have read about this point of view (in history books or filosophy) but I had never encountered someone who believes such a thing is possible, common and a fact.

Could someone develop this argument for me? I am not looking to condem, only to find out more. Knowing more about such a fundamentally different way of thinking would help me understand a lot of things. Thank you.
