18?  We should put someone we don't trust enough to buy beer to death?  I'm in prison a lot and I know so many guys who HATE there 18, 19 years old selves.  Think of all the growing you do after 18.  Regardless of what the state says, you're still just a stupid kid.

when you are sixteen you should know better than to kill someone, so i voted for the sixteen. If  a sixteen year old can drive a car he obviously has the judgement to know not to murder someone.

You're killing children.  And madbilly, you never answered my argument in the death penalty forum.  Go do that.

wow.  how many times did you make a mistake when you were sixteen?  or even 18.  some people at those ages don't have the mentality of four year old or at least don't act like they do.  i went to high school, so i know all about that.  people grow up.  they look back at their mistakes and feel remorse.  but why bother?  let's just kill 'em all before they have a chance to see where they screwed up.  sounds like a grand idea to me.

you feel remorse for shoplifting and some people don't.  some people feel remorse for murder and some people don't.  so should we kill every single one of them and deny them the chance to learn from their mistakes? you said you were weak about smoking cigarettes didn't you billy?  well, some people are weak when it comes to controlling thier tempers.  it's all about self-discipline.  some people have and some don't.  and even if it was a planned murder, they should still be given a chance to think it over.  and learn from it.

oh and by the way, murder is serious, but how is it complex.  i would imagine that its just as easy as lighting up a cig, seeing as human life is fragile and all.

most murders are not planned out.  they just happen.  killing someone while driving drunk is murder just the same as cappin' 'em in the head.  i'm sorry, but i can find no validity or even common sense in your opinion.

valididity..common sense....yes drunk driving is murder but 16 should not be drinking anyways...cappin someone in the head...16 year olds cant own handguns so they went through  complex work to get the gun...and no sixteen yr old would carry a gun like that unless he had some reason to use it...aka shoot someone.

c'mon billy, think about that man.  jus because 16 year olds shouldn't drink doesn't mean they don't.  and you seem to be quite the country boy, so I can assume that you've been around guns most of your life (probably well before 16), and you know that it wouldn't be that hard to get ahold of one.  lots of folks have guns (in the cities too), so its not really a complex procedure to go get it out of a drawer or closet.  and most of those people don't have guns for the purpose of murder.  maybe a little target practice now and then, or (i know it's hard to believe) protection.  and some teenagers would carry a gun to make himself look big.  "i have a big gun, so i'm a big man."  dress to impress if that's their thing.  but the vast majority would never even use the guns anyway.  if your only arguments are based on what people should and should not do, then this debate isn't going to go anywhere, because come to think of it, people shouldn't murder either.

Fallingupwards84,

To require justice is not the same as murder. If one steals your watch, he should be made to either buy you a new one or give you his. Just because he had to give you his does not mean that the courts are stealing from him.

The same with the death penalty. If one takes the life of another, he should have to give his life as punishment. It is called a condign. The punishments fits the crime.

and if you shoplift at a store do you have to buy a pair of whatever you stole and give it back to that store? NO no other crime you do works that way.

Wow you have my total agreement.  My cowardly excuse is I'm glad to see killers get executed, but I would not want to be the one to do the deed.

Is this a pro or anti government sentiment?
