What the heck???

I think parents shouldn't.  They pay enough to the kids with them living in the house, getting abercrombie clothes (no offense to those who dont, like me) and giving them mcdonalds burgers.  lexuries are overlooked, peeps.

There are many right answers and things that need to be considered. Such as:

Do the parents feel it would teach their child who to save and manage money and feel this is something they should teach their child?

Do the parents prefer decided on a case to case basis which things their child disires they should buy, or giving their child a budget and letting them make the decisions?

Do the parents feel that giving a small money prize for doing chores or for successful not breaking any rules makes it easier for them to have good and happy children?

I think children should have at least a small allowance to teach them about managing and saving money with consideration to how much money the parents have, how much stuff/activities the parents want the children to be able to have/participate in, and how much of this stuff/activities the child will be required to pay for with their money.

A good reason for giving allowance is so kids learn how to manage money.

And if your kids uses drugs, you've got more to worry about than allowance!

It should be up to the individual parents. I personally am for it because it will help teach the children about the concept of money and how to manage it. so rather than just buying your kid a toy, have your kid preform tasks to earn the money to buy the toy.
