How do literal genesis believers deal with the problem of the fossil record not supporting hydrological sorting that should be seen with a world wide flood?

Aka, why don't we see Asian Elephants in the same layer with mammoths, medium sized dinosaurs and large early reptiles? Furthermore, why aren't small reptiles like Celophysis not found in top layers?

I don't know. I've never really researched it. At this point, I am relying on faith.

If I may, what makes you think that relying on faith is such a good idea especially when your interpretation of that faith runs seriously contrary to what we actually find as well as products we use everyday?

Remember Augustine's statement?

Reckless and incompetent expounders of Holy Scripture bring untold trouble and sorrow on their wiser brethren when they are caught in one of their mischievous false opinions and are taken to task by those who are not bound by the authority of our sacred books. For then, to defend their utterly foolish and obviously untrue statements, they will try to call upon Holy Scripture for proof and even recite from memory many passages which they think support their position, although "they understand neither what they say nor the things about which they make assertion." (I Tim. 1: 7)

Pogge:” This is the volume of a sphere with a 62 kilometer (about 39 miles) radius, which is considerably smaller than the 2,000 mile radius of the Earth.”
Wikipedia:” For Earth, the mean radius is 6,371.009 km(≈3,958.761 mi; ≈3,440.069 nmi).”
Wisp to Lester (on Pogge): Do you admit he was wrong about the basics?
Lester: No
