|Okay chaps and chapesses, time to dust of your RealPlayer and listen up
BBC Radio 4 currently runs a series of programmes titled In Our Time in which Melvyn Bragg interviews various experts in different fields to the end of exploring the history of modern ideas.
Now, the really good thing is the good ol' Beeb has put all the programmes on its webpage for us to enjoy at our leisure.
In particular, one programme examined evolutionary concepts as well as touching on Intelligent design and Creationism (abeit briefly). A very interesting discussion, regardless of which side of the debate (if any) you sit on:
In Our Time: Chance and Design
Click listen live in the centre left under the "Listen again" link to access the programme. You require RealPlayer to do so, this being available as a free download. If you are running a firewall, you will need to enable RealPlayer's access rights or the programme will not run.
It lasts about 45 minutes and is well worth the time. In particular, I found the comments on randomness in evolution and intelligent design interesting. Good point to start a discussion on the non-random nature of the evolutionary process.
Finally, In Our Time covers a wide range of topics and all the discussions are worth checking out. Enjoy!
