There is something that has been kickign around in my head as I read the discussions that you all have with what I have seen described as evolutionist. My question is this..

I've seen you all defend the bible as the word of God and the activites in the bible as the truth..

With that said, when one takes into consideration some of the things people were asked to do in the name of Jesus in the bible, if someone did those exact same things today they would be found guilty of a crime or looked at as they are crazy..

For example, If I walked up to you on the street and said. "God/Jesus asked me to ask you to take me to the nearest atm and give me all your money" I mean I expect you would look at me like I was crazy. But why, in the bible God never really had a clear reasoning for asking his followers to do things and he often used messengers to do it. So would you deny doing what I asked? is it because you would think God wouldnt ask someone that?

If you were on jury duty and a guy on trial stated that he was told by God to kill his brother as in the story of cain and able, would u find him not guilty if he was listening to the supreme creator and was doing what was asked of him or would you think he was crazy?

I guess I just dont understand to what lengths your beliefs go when applied to real life situations..

Any clarification would be helpful

What? Loving your enemy? What are you talking about?
If you were on jury duty and a guy on trial stated that he was told by God to kill his brother as in the story of cain and able,
Consider reading the story, or avoiding mentioning it.

Perhaps you have some point (i wonder what its relation with the subject of this forum might be), but it gets diluted by your mistakes.

Perhaps you got the story of Abraham and Isaac (father and son, not brothers) mixed up with that of Cain and Able.

I do apologize. It was kind of gibberish. The basic question is. If you believe that Jesus/God spoke to people directly as some stories in the bible describe, do you believe that he still does that today. If someone claimed to be spoken too directly by God as they were in some instances written into the bible, would you believe them or think that they were crazy?

If you would believe them, how far would you go in your beliefs? Would you give me all your money if I told you "God told me to ask you for all your money?" or if you wouldnt..why wouldnt you? Do you believe that God/Jesus dont speak to humans directly?
