Venom has a purpose and a function. It poisons the recipient not the producer; it is stored specifically to be used in defence or for feeding. It is coded for in the DNA and is produced and held in a portion of the anatomy that can deliver its intended action.
Who else supports this?

Timbrx? Anyone?

Would we see a mammal by the water's edge "suddenly" start breathing underwater(w/camera effect of course)?

I guess I would support it, I don't know the fine workings of venom, but I don't see anything here that is particularly wrong. Although I wouldn't support the idea that it was intelligently designed if that is what you're asking.

Yes, that's what i'm asking.
In Lester's hypothesis and under his terms, you can't have something with a purpose if there was no intelligence in its making.

Without the sub-text I would support Lester, with the sub-text however, I must say he has it wrong.

Well, in some sense of "purpose" i'd support it too. His sense of "purpose" means that it comes from an intelligent source.

No purpose without intelligence. And that's another (valid) sense of "purpose".
