A call for peace

In the dawn of human awareness of one god over all, the home of Abraham was reft in two. A house is built of human hands. A home is built of love. Which is more sacred, a house or a home? Which is more sacred, peace or war?
The angel stayed the hand of Abraham. It is time for us to stay our own hands and give thanks. God made a promise to Abraham that if he will he put his faith in the one god, he will be blessed with descendants more numerous than the stars in the sky. Through the miracle of life, this promise has been met. It is time for a new promise. It is time for the tribes of Abraham to give thanks and praise for this generous gift of life. Now is the time for the children of Abraham to make a new promise to learn to live as brothers and sisters in the common cause of peace and goodwill.
What is more holy? Peace or war? What will meet with the greatest blessing? A holy war or a holy peace? As God has given that which is desirable to Abraham let us give that which is desirable to God.

yeah man im sorry to agree with that guest guy but man there will be no peace in the world.  as long as man exsist there will be war, there will be violence, it is something you just cant stop,  plus without no violence the united states would not be in the position that it is in and if you live in the united states then think about if no war you might not be living there today

Maybe your bible is one of the reasons there will always be war. Many of the wars fought throughout history have been fought in the name of god and religion.
So you're ok with the fact that there will always be war because the bible says so?

First of all i was saying this because he was talking about world peace and refering to God and such and i was simply stating that even in the Bible there will be war until the end.

Did you ever think what defines right and wrong?  Its has always been religion that defines it.  So without my Bible what would be wrong and what would be right?

Yes im perfectly okay with that.  And im perfectly okay with everthing else the Bible says as well. Nothing you could do or say could ever convince me other wise.

That kind of thinking is precisely the reason MAN wrote the bible. You mean you couldn't figure out what was right and what was wrong without some book telling you? You mean without the bible having been written you might be out killing someone because you wouldn't know it was wrong?

It has not always been religion that defines it, it is humanity that defines it. It is our own conscience and compassion that defines it. Obviously if the bible says there will ALWAYS be war, then your book has none of these characteristics. Rape, murder, incest, genocide, infanticide all sanctioned and even COMMITTED by the god in your storybook. Those are the ideals you think have brought us to where we are now?
Maybe with the state the world is in, you are partially correct, but it can still be saved and war CAN be stopped as soon as people close the bible and open their eyes.

If people are Okay with the fact that there will always be war because the bible says so, then that will lead to armaggedon. You're saying nothing we could do could ever change that, because the bible says there will ALWAYS be war, and whats more you are not even willing to change it because that would go against your precious bible?

It boggles my mind, how religion has warped your mind and its perceptions of the world. I used to be curious about what the bible actually said and taught. After reading some of it and seeing how it affects otherwise normal, rational people, I am convinced that IT will be the downfall of humanity and nothing you can say or do will convince me otherwise.

Rob, I agree that man does have the ability to differentiate between right and wrong with or without the bible.
However, atheist have many times provided proof that man will choose wrong over right on his own. Evidenced by the histories  of Stalin, Pol-Pot, Hitler, Edi Amin and others.
It is also true that many have lost their lives as a result of religious fanatics who twist the message of the bible into a tool for their own political agendas, in effect exposing "them" too as atheist as if they conducted themselves according to the word of God, they would not have fooled the faithful into taking up arms against another people to advance their own ideals. But people follow strong men as they lack confidence in themselves and seek guidance. Abuse of that trust falls on the ones who guide improperly.
The world will always have war. The fault of those wars will always be on man. When people attack, the attacked will respond. As it should be.
