As someone who wore uniforms most of her life and HATED them the whole time, I am FOR uniforms in schools.
Our schools did not have indecently dressed people.  Guys treated the girls with more respect than our public school friends received and while the guys didn't like them, I think they did act more restrained while wearing their ties.   Free dress days were a nightmare.  The entire tone of the school changed on those days.  As a teen who HATED my uniform, I have to admit that I noticed at the time the difference in attitude and demeanor.
(on the other hand, I also envied the Catholic schools... they had better uniforms!)

I totally think that we should be able to wear what we want to school until a certain extent. We have the constitutional right of freedom of speech and to some dressing in flashy or showy outfits is their way of expressing themselves! Now once you get to the tube top butt hanging out shorts then i would see why the school officials take action. But otherwise i dont! I would spend millions of dollars on fighting for this cause i believe in it so much! If the schools want us to dress a certain way then why dont they just buty our clothes for us? We've already bought our clothes, and we shouldnt have to go out anf buy a whole new wardrobe that matches the schools liking!

I am really against school uniforms. 1- how
does this improve childrens school work?
2-children should be able to express themselves not critized by people of what they're wearing
3-school is a place to learn and not discourage and try to rule them like the're worthless
4-if the children arent paying attention its their problem not everyboby else's. The children are the ones who lose the opportunity. If you really want to educate them just homeschool them
5-mabye children are wearing clothes that are inappropiate becausethey arent being cared for or because they arent heard by adults[random]

I am against school uniforms because clothes are what make people different and you don't want to look like everyone else.  How are you going to be different by joining a gang, killing someone, or just acting out in class?

I think that uniforms in school is the most dumbest thing that I have heard. I understand that some people don't have money to buy clothes but that shouldn't make us have to wear them. I think that if we had to wear them that more and more kids would drop out of school because they would refuse to wear a uniform. School is basically where a kid can express themselves through what they wear, how they act, or whatever.

i think we should not be forced to wear something we don't want to.  an di'm sure most kids don't agree on school uniforms in school right?  we are all individuals with individual ideas, feelings, tastes, and lives. i think all kids like us should beable to express ourselves.  i think uniforms would just make us all think were tied down and in a prison, yah were here to learn but also to meet knew people and have fun.  it is are right as an AMERICAN to wear what we please.  uniforms  aren't exactly bargains and did anyone ever stop to think that we would want another set of clothes for outside of school like street clothes? and party clothes? kids will still be kids and they still find other reasons to pick on others b/c thats just how this world is.

You can say what you want about uniforms, but it doesn't change the fact that it really is not different from a public school with out them! Everyone is worried about their child getting shot, or stabbed, or beat up in a public school, and it can happen in any school with uniforms. A child can sneak a gun or knife in their pocket, and hurt someone for no reason, or because they were teased! Students in a piblic school can be just as smart, and getting just as good of grades as the students with a uniform! What is the bull about having to pull out 50 pairs of jeans in the morning? no parent allows that! No child would pull out 50 pairs of jeans! the most would be 2-4, and you know what thats ok. Students look nice in uniforms? Students will wear their unifroms the way they want to so they may express their differences! With school uniforms every students individuality it taken away, and replaced with some dull boring thing! With uniforms students can not express who they are like they would like to! They are forced to hang around in groups of people who who look like them, instead of who they really are!

From where I come from (Hong Kong), it is required that all schools have a uniform for students to wear.
Actually, it isn't a problem at all, schools can have different uniforms, although actually here, most uniforms are quite the same, though not quite. There are always differences, e.g. the school tie.
I don't think school uniforms will affect your own personal style. As we all know, everyone is unique, there is no need to express yourself in clothes, especially in schools. As some ppl said earlier, schools are places for learning, NOT for dressing up.
And again, as someone said earlier, uniforms can prepare us for the real world out there. there are many jobs out there that require you to wear decent clothing, which means something similar to a uniform. i think that it would be better for us to get used to that kind of clothing than to find it very uncomfortable when we get a job.
One last point that I want to mention, maybe it might not apply to all of you, though, I think that my school uniform gives me a sense of belonging to my own school. I'm proud of my my school, and therefore, I'm proud of school uniform.
