The End Of Suburbia - Oil Depletion

The time is near. If we are to save ourselves, prepparations must be made.

This current administration has proven, time and time again, to be nothing but corrupt liars doing the bidding of oil companies.

It's time for a change. The time has come for us to stop electing these rich billionaires into positions of power.

It's time to vote Green. PLEASE..take this seriously. Do this for the future generations that already are faced with the burden of our increasing debt. Who do you think is going to pay for this war? Not just us....the effects will be felt for a long time.

Let's try to make our future generations proud of us for at least trying.

His name is Alan Augustson null

I agree.
We cant live on fossil fuels alone, and if man is truly a progressive species then we will come up with an alternative fuel. There are plenty out there waiting to be utilized, but it is going to take one nation stepping forward to lead the way for the rest of the world.
Fossil fuels are inefficient and damaging to the environment. If we switched to ethanol to run our cars, that would be creating a huge boom for the american economy. Why? Because ethanol comes from corn and America is perfectly suited to grow corn. There would be minimal dependence on oil and we would out our own nation in a position of power.

You do know that environmentalist have been screaming doom before the first well was dug, and if they are to be trusted as much as they are we should have run out of oil in 1913. The last time I checked we still have oil.

In what way is fossil fuel inefficient?  Compared to what?

What alternate fuels are waiting to be used?

Regarding ethanol, that is about as un-green as you can get.

First, there is the problem of getting back less energy than was put into production.  Obviously this varies, with soil rainfall etc.  But it is by no means clear that there is a net energy gain to be had.  Sometimes there is some times there is not.  How many millions of acres should be used to feed cars?

IF as you say, this was going to be an economic boom why isnt it happening now?  In my state they are CLOSING new ethanol plants.

Then look at the big picture.  You have the native population and the prairie biome, with all its plants and animals.  WHAM.  Turn it all into bare ground, for corn!  Then put the product into machines! Hurtle down the highway at 70 mph!  That is "green"?

Brazil is great.  Strip off the rainforest to grow sugarcane and put the product into, yes, cars.

Its like a nightmare.

We need to do something, howwever we will have trouble doing that. Like ethnol fuel can't realy be doon because it would take to much room and corn to do it.

All we have to do is find a way to turn all of the lies politicians spew into electrical energy.
