Forfunt1 seems to think that just because we own guns, we are cowards expecting a home invasion.  Well, Forfunt, let me tell you one simple thing:  I own a fire extinguisher, and I keep it full and handy.  That doesn't mean that I'm expecting my house to burn.

Jabba, you obviously fear fire way too much. How can you live your life thinking that fire is after you? Once you let go of your fear of fire, it can't harm you. Just leave it alone and it will leave you alone. Love conquers all, even burning infernos.

Stunt_Pirate,

Did you make that up yourself, or read it on a fortune cookie?

I see you did what you usually do when you have no logical counter-argument.

You responded to his post (without addressing his point) as means to totally ignore mine.

Heh... it's your ineptitude in its full visibility.  When you responded to the Pirate, well, he was just mocking you.  You used his post as means to ignore my analogy and the point that I made in the OP.

oooohh cornered!

But jabba, it seems you forget, that forfunt is above fear. He/she is a being that lives outside the rules of this universe. Common Sense and things like facts and points are mere illusions.

And for that we'll never get an answer from him/her; because he/she is wrong, and that doesnt happen.

Get it straight then: You own guns because you are cowards. Your statement was reversed, I thought you might be able to catch your mistake and revise it so I gave you a chance.

People own guns because they are cowards. A few perfect examples: Soldiers in the U.S. Armed forces, police officers, soldiers of fortune disguised as police officers (like the ones working at the Denver DNC), smugglers for the drug cartels, FBI agents, CIA agents, some prison guards, ATF agents, border patrol agents, etc., etc..

Catch my drift?

As to the fire extinguisher; do you keep it because you expect your house to freeze?

I've been reading a lot of forfunt1's replies.  He/she does not intent to discuss anything rationally or logically.  If somebody posts an argument and forfunt1 cannot dispute, forfunt1 just post jibberish.  I do not know why you continue to play into his/her game.  Until I get a reasonable dialog, I will not reply to forfunt1.

Are you capable of having an intelligent discussion?  A gun is sufficient to scare away an intruder.  It would be nice if I could accurately say the same about a burglar alarm; but I can't.

People dont own guns becauses they are cowards, they own guns to have power.. power over there fellow man, the many organizations that you mentioned, such as the police use guns to deter the common moral deviant "aka criminal" thus giving them power over them.

You do know that guns are not just used to kill people. While they are very effective at killing people they are also very good for killing milk bottles filled with water.

I actually like that :P Pretty funny dude.

And forfunt1 I normally don't agree with the opposition but please prove a point once in a while. You're disgracing the gun-control argument more than Sarah Palin disgraces the Republican Party. That's a huge gap to jump dude.

Now I don't think that guns necessarily mean cowardice. I really don't. I've known people who have guns just as a safety precaution in cause thier years upon years upon years upon bloody decades of martial arts training somehow fall short of meeting thier opponents standards. I also don't think guns should be completely and totally banned. Police use guns to intimidate the guy holding a switchblade at them. Army soldiers use them to (in some cases) protect countries (or as we've seen lately to abuse others). And above that, civilians use them to protect themselves in case they aren't strong enough or need that extra bit of security.

It doesn't mean that you're a coward though. On the other hand though, people have been irresponsible about thier guns. I mean honestly if you have a kid getting bullied in school and enough guns to supply a third world country then you really have to be careful. Aside from that certain guns just aren't necessary. I mean like when are you EVER going to need a TEC 9, two UZIs a UMP, FAMAS, two FN SCARS and a pump action shotgun in your house. My recommendation, one handgun, two clips in the house at all time. Preferably a revolver because those can scare the Holy Mary mother of Jesus out of any thug. But other guns that are intent on using like Glocks could be used responsibly also.

In essence, take the moderate path. Don't own a factory of guns in your house and don't completely ban them. You own an arsenal and "Little Eric Harris" might have to borrow them. You ban them all and that's a wet dream for gun runners nationwide. Moderation is key, responsibility is the lock and it opens a door of virtue.

(Made that last tidbit myself thank you ^.^ )

-------
A strong body with a weak mind is like a fort with no soldiers to protect it. A weak body with a strong mind is like a battalion out in the open. To solve all situations, one must moderate themselves.
