Christ armed His followers:

Luke 22:  35 And he said unto them, When I sent you without purse, and scrip, and shoes, lacked ye any thing? And they said, Nothing. 36 Then said he unto them, But now, he that hath a purse, let him take it, and likewise his scrip: and he that hath no sword, let him sell his garment, and buy one. 37 For I say unto you, that this that is written must yet be accomplished in me, And he was reckoned among the transgressors: for the things concerning me have an end. 38 And they said, Lord, behold, here are two swords. And he said unto them, It is enough.

More religious fanaticism. Jesus would never inflict harm on anybody even if that person did something wrong to him. Remember his statements "love thy enemy" and "turn the other cheek"? Most Christians, including Bush, miss that part. Also, there is no God.

Furthermore, the image which he provided is purely how you interpret it. Put it logically, because Jesus cleaned a temple with a whip, and because a whip is a loud and scares cattle, which causes a stampede, Christians have the right to arm themselves?

#1. Whips don't cause stampedes. A single whip-crack isn't going to drive a load of cattle crazy.

#2. Where is the connection between a whip, Jesus, and Jesus being harmful, and that justifying all Christians killing who they believe the wicked is. There is none. Its just fundamentalist Christians trying to rationalize using guns because they won't admit they just like to kill stuff.

Jesus was not a pacifist, stop trying to claim he was. Jesus himself said...

"Do not think I have come to bring peace on earth, I come not to bring peace, but a sword"

Jesus was opposed to selfish violence, violence for ones own gain. He was not opposed to violence in and of itself.

Your ignorance on what Jesus meant is disturbing. Turning the other check doesn’t mean to take it up the rear and then thank them. It means not to seek revenge. God, who is part of the trinity used violence often to get things done. He allowed people to be killed. Jesus was far from a pacifist. Would a pacifists walk into a room and turn over tables and whip people for selling goods in the church? I think not!

I've read and re-read the verses to which you refer.... Where do you find that he whipped people?
