Only the faithful ones.  Why? Orders.

Luke 22:  35 And he said unto them, When I sent you without purse, and scrip, and shoes, lacked ye any thing? And they said, Nothing. 36 Then said he unto them, But now, he that hath a purse, let him take it, and likewise his scrip: and he that hath no sword, let him sell his garment, and buy one. 37 For I say unto you, that this that is written must yet be accomplished in me, And he was reckoned among the transgressors: for the things concerning me have an end. 38 And they said, Lord, behold, here are two swords. And he said unto them, It is enough.

Romans 13: 1 Let every soul be subject unto the higher powers. For there is no power but of God: the powers that be are ordained of God. 2 Whosoever therefore resisteth the power, resisteth the ordinance of God: and they that resist shall receive to themselves damnation. 3 For rulers are not a terror to good works, but to the evil. Wilt thou then not be afraid of the power? do that which is good, and thou shalt have praise of the same: 4 For he is the minister of God to thee for good. But if thou do that which is evil, be afraid; for he beareth not the sword in vain: for he is the minister of God, a revenger to execute wrath upon him that doeth evil. 5 Wherefore ye must needs be subject, not only for wrath, but also for conscience sake. 6 For for this cause pay ye tribute also: for they are God’s ministers, attending continually upon this very thing. 7 Render therefore to all their dues: tribute to whom tribute is due; custom to whom custom; fear to whom fear; honour to whom honour.

Luke 11: 21 When a strong man armed keepeth his palace, his goods are in peace: 22 But when a stronger than he shall come upon him, and overcome him, he taketh from him all his armour wherein he trusted, and divideth his spoils.

Lets' see you started off by attacking people who practice religions as a whole . . . .

Quote from Peter87 at 09:07 AM on May 8, 2005 :
You are so blinded by your eligion it is unbeliveale.

The Scriptures call those kinds of people fools.  This  website also calls people such as yourself other similar such names.

'Certain criminally stupid elements of society like to pretend that a preemptive attack on the source of an assertion (or better yet, the entire group that leans that way) substitutes for having to listen, understand and form a cogent counter-argument. This is known as "poisoning the well." Only the truly mindless dullards will ever use it, but if and when they do, just point it out in catchy graphic form to the rest of the forum-goers. '

Looks like your words determined exactly what you are. . .
Luke 6: 45 A good man out of the good treasure of his heart bringeth forth that which is good; and an evil man out of the evil treasure of his heart bringeth forth that which is evil: for of the abundance of the heart his mouth speaketh.

Why don't you prove your self to be wise now?

Prov 17:  28 Even a fool who is silent is counted wise, he who shuts his lips is counted as understanding.

No I didn't attack religion asa whole, I belive it has a certain control element on society.

I was simpily stating that debateing with you would be pointless because all of your arguements will be based on the scriptures and you will not be open minded enougth to accept anything else, or at least I presume and sorry if I have miss judged you already.

Are you seriously attacking my intelect? For a teenager I'm in the uper bound of inteligence so please don't try to pass comment when you don't know how clever I am.

And my counter argument is "Scriptures Mean Nothing In Law"

And if you carry on backing up your scriptures with scriptures I will ignour any further comments you make.

Actually I have already won with your help.  You opened your mouth and proved yourself to be a fool.  Oh by the way believing something to the "Letter" is called being a zealot.  . . . that is a good thing for a believer.

John 2:  17 And his disciples remembered that it was written, The zeal of thine house hath eaten me up.

Ello!

Okay. So, according to Unworthy, Christians have the right to guns. That's nice.

However you didn't answer K8's question. Is the answer to the question "why" really "orders"? If that were the case, than I should be able to obligate myself to performing irrational or foolish actions of my choosing, and then justying that action by saying "It was an order." What do you mean by "Orders?"

Yes, please tell me as well why you would need weapons when god says he's got your back?

Also, why do you say every christian needs a gun when the bible only makes mention of two swords/guns/whatever. Or does that mean that every Christain should have two guns?

And this is a good question, why have a gun when we live in a Christian majority and not in any real danger against enemies of good?

What would you use these guns for?

As you can see like every person who ever laid eyes on the Bible, I have a slightly different interpretation and I ask that instead of wierd ppictures and cowboys with AK47's you in simple everyday english tell me exactly what you itnerpret. I don't blame you, I blame the Bible's ambiguity.

Simple answer:  Orders. No ambiguity . . .  as it is clear as a bell.
Deut 20:1 When thou goest out to battle against thine enemies, and seest horses, and chariots, and a people more than thou, be not afraid of them: for the LORD thy God is with thee, which brought thee up out of the land of Egypt. 2 And it shall be, when ye are come nigh unto the battle, that the priest shall approach and speak unto the people, 3 And shall say unto them, Hear, O Israel, ye approach this day unto battle against your enemies: let not your hearts faint, fear not, and do not tremble, neither be ye terrified because of them; (faint: Heb. be tender) (tremble: Heb. make haste) 4 For the LORD your God is he that goeth with you, to fight for you against your enemies, to save you. 5 And the officers shall speak unto the people, saying, What man is there that hath built a new house, and hath not dedicated it? let him go and return to his house, lest he die in the battle, and another man dedicate it. 6 And what man is he that hath planted a vineyard, and hath not yet eaten of it? let him also go and return unto his house, lest he die in the battle, and another man eat of it. (eaten...: Heb. made it common) 7 And what man is there that hath betrothed a wife, and hath not taken her? let him go and return unto his house, lest he die in the battle, and another man take her. 8 And the officers shall speak further unto the people, and they shall say, What man is there that is fearful and fainthearted? let him go and return unto his house, lest his brethren's heart faint as well as his heart. (faint: Heb. melt) 9 And it shall be, when the officers have made an end of speaking unto the people, that they shall make captains of the armies to lead the people. (to lead...: Heb. to be in the head of the people)
10 When thou comest nigh unto a city to fight against it, then proclaim peace unto it. 11 And it shall be, if it make thee answer of peace, and open unto thee, then it shall be, that all the people that is found therein shall be tributaries unto thee, and they shall serve thee. 12 And if it will make no peace with thee, but will make war against thee, then thou shalt besiege it: 13 And when the LORD thy God hath delivered it into thine hands, thou shalt smite every male thereof with the edge of the sword: 14 But the women, and the little ones, and the cattle, and all that is in the city, even all the spoil thereof, shalt thou take unto thyself; and thou shalt eat the spoil of thine enemies, which the LORD thy God hath given thee. (take: Heb. spoil) 15 Thus shalt thou do unto all the cities which are very far off from thee, which are not of the cities of these nations. 16 But of the cities of these people, which the LORD thy God doth give thee for an inheritance, thou shalt save alive nothing that breatheth: 17 But thou shalt utterly destroy them; namely , the Hittites, and the Amorites, the Canaanites, and the Perizzites, the Hivites, and the Jebusites; as the LORD thy God hath commanded thee: 18 That they teach you not to do after all their abominations, which they have done unto their gods; so should ye sin against the LORD your God. 19 When thou shalt besiege a city a long time, in making war against it to take it, thou shalt not destroy the trees thereof by forcing an axe against them: for thou mayest eat of them, and thou shalt not cut them down (for the tree of the field is man's life ) to employ them in the siege: (for the...: or, for, O man, the tree of the field is to be employed in the siege) (to employ...: Heb. to go from before thee) 20 Only the trees which thou knowest that they be not trees for meat, thou shalt destroy and cut them down; and thou shalt build bulwarks against the city that maketh war with thee, until it be subdued. (it...: Heb. it come down)

There is no real point in debating with a moron such as you, you will acept nothing but the bible and when someone diaagrees with you, you clame that they are a fool becuase of the connections between mouth head and hands which we all have. All you see is the scripture, and your missing the real word. You are the kind of person that god (if it existists) would hate to see on earth, preaching ratered and rubish in "his" name. God is forgiving and loving more than anything else so think about that not all the tiny laws that contradict each other wieved throughout the bible.

I have another question about Unworthy post:

How does that answer the question "If God has your back?"

For the LORD your God is he that goeth with you, to fight for you against your enemies, to save you.

Did that not just answer Iorek's question by answer that God will protect you? Or is there another, more specific quote, that I did not notice that justifies your claim?

I also wonder: The second quote in your first post (at the beginning of the thread states) ...

For the battle is the LORD'S, and he will give you into your our hands.

Who is "our" in that quote and what dose it mean?

Well it appears that God uses the Sword and sometimes God expects you to wield the sword. . .either way it is God who determines the outcome.

Judge 6: 12 And the angel of the LORD appeared unto him, and said unto him, The LORD is with thee, thou mighty man of valour.

Judge 7:  7 And the LORD said unto Gideon, By the three hundred men that lapped will I save you, and deliver the Midianites into thine hand: and let all the other people go every man unto his place. 8 So the people took victuals in their hand, and their trumpets: and he sent all the rest of Israel every man unto his tent, and retained those three hundred men: and the host of Midian was beneath him in the valley.
9 And it came to pass the same night, that the LORD said unto him, Arise, get thee down unto the host; for I have delivered it into thine hand. 10 But if thou fear to go down, go thou with Phurah thy servant down to the host: 11 And thou shalt hear what they say; and afterward shall thine hands be strengthened to go down unto the host. Then went he down with Phurah his servant unto the outside of the armed men that were in the host. (armed men: or, ranks by five) 12 And the Midianites and the Amalekites and all the children of the east lay along in the valley like grasshoppers for multitude; and their camels were without number, as the sand by the sea side for multitude. 13 And when Gideon was come, behold, there was a man that told a dream unto his fellow, and said, Behold, I dreamed a dream, and, lo, a cake of barley bread tumbled into the host of Midian, and came unto a tent, and smote it that it fell, and overturned it, that the tent lay along. 14 And his fellow answered and said, This is nothing else save the sword of Gideon the son of Joash, a man of Israel: for into his hand hath God delivered Midian, and all the host. 15 And it was so , when Gideon heard the telling of the dream, and the interpretation thereof, that he worshipped, and returned into the host of Israel, and said, Arise; for the LORD hath delivered into your hand the host of Midian. (interpretation: Heb. breaking)

2 kings 19:  32 Therefore thus saith the LORD concerning the king of Assyria, He shall not come into this city, nor shoot an arrow there, nor come before it with shield, nor cast a bank against it. 33 By the way that he came, by the same shall he return, and shall not come into this city, saith the LORD. 34 For I will defend this city, to save it, for mine own sake, and for my servant David's sake.
35 And it came to pass that night, that the angel of the LORD went out, and smote in the camp of the Assyrians an hundred fourscore and five thousand: and when they arose early in the morning, behold, they were all dead corpses. 36 So Sennacherib king of Assyria departed, and went and returned, and dwelt at Nineveh. 37 And it came to pass, as he was worshipping in the house of Nisroch his god, that Adrammelech and Sharezer his sons smote him with the sword: and they escaped into the land of Armenia. And Esarhaddon his son reigned in his stead. (Armenia: Heb. Ararat)

Can you really infer that from the text? So what you are saying is "Because God tells me to." Does God tell all Christians this? Or just "true" Christians? And how does he tell you? Does he appear in the sky, or in your dreams? (And don't answer "by giving us his holy texts", because then you would just be using circular logic.)

Don't plan to get a nice answer to that question. He'll just give you a quote from the Bible stating that God doesn't approve of suicide. So therefore, he will view your suggestion as invalid. Furthermore, if he were to state that, it wouldn't be answering Pete's question, it would just provide another excuse of why not to.

Seems you don't answer my questions either, or respond to my posts. I noticed that you prefer to single out only one of my many inquiries and then justify it with Bible text. Are you afraid of the questions you can't answer?

1 Thess 2: 13 For this cause also thank we God without ceasing, because, when ye received the word of God which ye heard of us, ye received it not as the word of men, but as it is in truth, the word of God, which effectually worketh also in you that believe.

You want me to talk "constitutionalist speech" and I chose to speak "Christian speech."

Oh BTW I did answer you question in previous posts.

So your point is that America was built on a pagan foundation, but it has a Christian goverment? What is your point?? "So therefore it should follow the rules of a Christian society, not some pagan form of goverment?"

Well let me assure you: Pagans have come a lot farther than Christians technologically and intellectually, mostly because they haven't been restrained by strict religion beliefs. If we were built on your terms, Unworthy, we might as well go back to the stone age.

And you certainly don't exercise "free speech." You pretty much attack anything that isn't like you or doesn't want to be like you. And the democracies of Greece aren't considered republics. The real first western republic was Roman.

Furthermore, make an effort to spell. Your argument doesn't improve when you write like a 12 year old. Then again, I wouldn't be surprised if you were.

Simple point.  People who claimed to be Chrtians came here first.  Those people let some snakes  talk them into establishing a pagan based government.  That shouldn't have been too hard to figure out.

And you certainly don't exercise "free speech." You pretty much attack anything that isn't like you or doesn't want to be like you. And the democracies of Greece aren't considered republics. The real first western republic was Roman.

Take that up with Noah Webster since it came out of his 1828 dictionary.  Hands down Noah was more intelligent than you.

That has to hurt... do you need a band-aid unworthy fool.

Anyway, we've come to a conclusion that,

- Unworthy has no actual thought process.

- Unworthy enjoys making cute little visual aids to get his asinine points across.

- Unworthy has no idea what a real Christian is.

- He certainly isn't one.

- He enjoys killing in the name of God. (See third point and it will make sense)

- No one on this thread agrees with him.

- He has no idea who Noah Webster is and tries to take definitions from a 177 year old dictionary.

Now back to the debate...

I am no hypocrite. I never said you couldn't say anything. I'm just stating the fact that the words that escape your mouth have the reasoning of a small pebble. (And even the small pebble disagrees with you)

If you wish to argue ethics with me, then drop the religious banter, and take it like a man (or a manly woman).

Guns only lead to trouble. So arming yourself is not the way to peace.

Killing in the name of God is a terrible misinterpretation of the scriptures. Why would god approve of you killing one of his beloved creations.

I am more than willing to have an intelligent conversation  with anyone who proves themselves to be intelligent.  I don't waste time with fools or people who judge by appearance such as yourself.

John 7; 24 judge not by appearance but judge with righteoues judgement.

You see boneheads, such as Box of Fox, who post a definition and think themselves "intelligent" yet can't explain what they posted, are fools.

Unworthy, you just contradicted yourself and you have done so several times in your posts.

I have heard you say many times to people, myself included now, that you "Do not waste time with fools or people who judge by appearance". You havent changed my opinion so therefor you have wasted your time on someone who has judged only on the appearance you have offered.

I am more than happy to debate intelligently with you, but you really must admit that the scriptures you are so proud of do not hold all the answers. You are very proud to serve god and that is not a bad thing if it is your choice. But god has also given you free will and he is very proud of that and would love for you to use your mind for something other than quoting the words from a book you have read. Surely after all this time of reading scriptures and the bible you have been able to formulate thoughts in your own words as god as intended.

Lol, you do the same thing. Didn't you post the definition of the words "republic" and "democracy?" But I guess you "forgot" about it. Or tried to ignore it. Typical foolishness. Lol, who cares whether or not I explain my posts, you certainly don't. Its as if you make a thread thinking that everyone will agree with you, and then possibly cannot conceive someone not agreeing with you. So if they don't, you call them a fool. That's why we don't consider you intelligent Unworthy-- people who refuse (AKA you, kid) can't justify or explain their actions, their beliefs, their statements, only blindly cite a text that is utterly worthless to anyone who is intelligent.

How bout' we start counting-- from now on, I'll start your IQ out at 100, and take one away after you mention the Bible, Scriptures, God, or foolishness (or something like that). I'll add one if you can make a reasonable, thoughtful, carefully typed and more than anything [i]not[i/" rel="nofollow] shallow post. However, but why don't I just start your score out at -7 and make it easy for you ;--)?

Nope I didn't forget about is as there was no need to respond since your post didn't refute my post at all.  Your post would need to address my points spefically and refute them, which they did not.  Of course being a fool you couldn't have realized that, so it looks like I have had to "spoon feed you again."

Everyone stop bickering! This is a debate and I really don't give a rat's ass who defines words or not.

1.  Unworthy you are the fool because you look down at your nose upon almost everyone (actually everyone). Yet, according to the bible, we come from the same dust. You take segments from the holy texts and you have twisted their words into a vindictive message that benefits no one but yourself. You say that you are a devout follower of Jesus even though you contradict his methods. Jesus was compassionate and he did not come with texts and scriptures to prove his point, he came and with logic and reasoning convinced thousands of Israelites of his power and infinite wisdom. That is how you change other people's minds. You take the recycled wisdom and force it on people who have never found faith in it to begin. How will that change minds? If you didn't agree with me so I began hitting you on the head with a hammer, would you change your mind or lash out at me in a hurtful way?

2.  Box of Fox, what are you doing squabbling with a person who cannot understand anything that doesn't have, chapter and verse numbers before it. I personally know that you are better than this. If you cannot defeat someone with logic, where do you go after that? I'll tell you. You'd be on the same level as your opponent; a mindless zombie who senslessly spits hypocratic dogma (Not just religious). Also, do not label people's intelligence by their idiosyncratic behavior which probably is a result of a psychological disorder or just bad parenting, but who knows.

Now I know I've done my share of name calling and such, but I now see the wrongness of it and I am attempting to right it.

Also, to Unworthy, I'm not a hypocrite. (How did I know you were going to say that!) I suggest that you don't pull one of your  random scriptures out of your ass because I think BOF might have lost his control and knock down your IQ. (also, then you would be the dogma spitting zombie I spoke of earlier.)

Also, why did you choose the name Unworthy Servant? Is it an inferiority complex, or an ironic potrayal of your ego. Hey, I'm just putting ideas out there, I'm not saying anything about your big ego (that was a pretty funny joke by most peoples standards). But seriously I'm not saying you have a big ego.

And picking the name Unworthy servant did you think about the idea that if you are so unworthy then why do you preach the scriptures? I don't know I'm just asking questions that need an answer that's all.

Anyway, a debate on guns...
I don't think anyone should have them legaly apart from military and some law enforcement special devisions.
However I can see the reason for having a rifle, a hunting rifle that is, in that it can be used for sport. Or a farmer owning a shot gun, or for clay pidgeon shooting.
But when people have fully automatic rifles such as M4's, thats not a hunting weapon, that gun was made for one thing and one thing ONLY! To kill PEOPLE other human being.
Plus handguns, why do you own them? They were designed and built again for the same reason, to kill other people, you cannot hunt with a hand gun, it is an anti-personnel weapon.
And I know people will give me "its for protection" try prevention as K8 has mentioned. Plus I'll probably get some "its in the constitution" sorry I'm not up on the american constitution but isn't that for protection against england or somthing? Correct me if I'm wrong. Oh and the final type of comment I expect is one of unworthys lovely little pictures that he is stealing from some web site some where, unworthy I'm not realy bothered about your misinterpreted "orders" from the bible, because the bible is NOT and WILL NOT be the law of the land.
I would also like to say that I feel safer now that there is a handgun ban here in UK, it is now HARDER to get hold of a hand gun.
Oh another thing, what if someone breaks into your house with a baseball bat and then finds your gun cabinet?

I can't agree more with the above...except for the hunting bit. I'm a reeeeaaaal softy when it comes to animals. Hunting for sport is just...i dunno, really unnecessary. Killing anything for fun is just, well, wrong basically. I'm sounding really inarticulate at the moment...sorry. I just think hunting is cruel and unnecessary. Unnecessary like owning a handgun...
