I very much doubt that debates such as these will ever be productive. Time and time again, these so-called debates turn into personal attacks thinly veiled as "statistics", usually with references to the ineptness and sheer stupidity of the opposing party. Hundreds of posts on dozens of sites later, I still find the whole process of the eradication of the Bill of Rights on track and steaming right ahead.
I have been called many things, some of which I am, others I am not.
I have been called a "gun-crazy animal killer." A "murderer of common sense ideas," and, "NRA poster boy &!#@$!@*!!''
I ask you, one and all, regardless of viewpoint, or "side," have you actually considered the fact that the Second Amendment has more than 22,000 gun laws stacked against it, with NO drop in crime? Quite the opposite. Can anyone name another right with more pointless paperwork piled against it.
I hear about "Regulation" and "Control" of firearms daily. Seems strange to me that those two words are used more often in Communist manifestos than any others.
Has anyone considered the fact that, in the time you take to read this, people are starving to death in every country?
Personal protection seems to be the watch-phrase of the NRA and other pro-gun establishments. I need no such justification to something I enjoy so much. I own, fire, and God forbid, am responsible for my weapons. I am. Not anyone else. Should I go on a rampage, are my firearms to blame, or am I?    All I hear about in the aftermath of these terrible tragedies, is about the troubled, depressed, unpopular, etc. person who committed the atrocity. I really don't care what they did prior to the incident, the shooter is still RESPONSIBLE.
Right after that, everyone starts screaming about how guns are evil because they are a tool of destruction. They are, and I am proud to own them. Why? Why do you like cars or tv? Cars have killed more people in the last 110 years than all the wars in HISTORY. I wonder why there is no Brady campaign against the auto industry? Why aren't car manufacturers being held accountable for drunk drivers as the firearms manufacturers were being held accountable for firearms long since sold and out of their control?
Personal responsibility is where I am going with this. I own firearms. I own vehicles. Both kill a significant amount of human beings every year. Which one are you pissed off I own? Being in control of either puts the lives of everyone around me in my hands. But cars aren't being regulated out of existence.
If you believe I should not own a firearm because I might kill someone, then I believe you should not drive for the same reason.
Personal responsibility.
If you wish to debate, I will. If you wish to argue, or engage in semantics, I will not answer you. I have only passing interest in your opinion, because it is YOURS! For the love of our country, quit trying to make people over in your own image. I am not trying to change your mind, or tell you I am right and you are wrong. I am telling you how I FEEL! Agree or disagree, this is my opinion  very briefly, and you have no hope of changing it.
Be safe one and all, and may we all realize that we are responsible for our own actions, and stop the pointless arguing. Our Free Speech is under attack as well. Go research it.

Sir I know your pain I to have been attacked numerous times. I have even been told that I need to die, and this from those who proclaim to value life above all else. Don't give up the good fight you are not alone. Here is something I posted a while ago I think you may find some truth in it.

“You don't win debates by hurling insults; this only shows a lack of character and an ignorance of the issue. You see these debates are not for you they are for those who look at these debates and don't post. I am not debating to change your mind, your mind is already made up and nothing I say no matter how profound it is will change it. If the audience sees someone who doesn’t counter a point made by his opponent and or just hurls insults or becomes argumentative they will be turned off to their point of view and or opinion. I would much rather have a real debate with you instead of this childish jousting. But so be it.”

As we debate we are here to complete the picture for those who are willing to look at both sides. As long we keep to the truth and point out the falsies on the other side we will eventually win the minds of the people allowing their eyes to see the truth. I for one am not going to give the other side a free hand allowing them to spew their point of view unopposed leaving those thirsting for the truth to drink from only one well lets give them a choice.
