When I hear of "plastic guns" my thoughts go straight to "toy guns."

Unfortunatly, the link by "Admin" does not work for me, so I cannot know what is meant by "plastic guns."

The idea that playing with plastic guns glorifies gunplay, and makes violence or gun accidents more likely is rediculous.

Teach children about guns, and all the plastic guns in the world will not make that kid peer down the barrel of a loaded .38.

Unfortunately, firearm safety does not always help when it comes to children, or for that mater, even adults. It's one thing to think about not irresponsibly handling a gun. The whole situation changes when you actually have a gun in your hand.

I believe admin is referring to the new "ceramic" guns, which can pass through a metal detector without setting it off.

hmmm... many plastic guns r look alikes of pistols, i once knew a kid who spray painted a toy gun and made it look real, and then he threatened a cop with it, he was sent to jail and i havent heard from him since, no matter what happens guns r dangerous, but i dont think we need to ban them!

Plastic guns are actually guns made from ceramics with unlethal plastic bullets.  They are referred to plastic guns because they shoot plastic.
I think they should not be banned.  Even though their purpose of non killing has failed a little bit, it does not change the fact that guns save the lives of people who are on violent strike.

I have never seen proof of a plastic firearm OR a ceramic firearm in existance that is the ability to fire a shot without self destructing the first time.  There certainly are no such firearms as this on the market.
Why ban something that doesn't exist?  It is a huge waste of money and time that doesn't do anything.

the plastic gun is a myth. The "plastic" gun has all metal components but is covered in plastic much like the synthetic stocks on rifles. The media played this up in reference to the glock 17 which is called a plastic gun but contains 10 ounces of metal. Ceramic guns do not exist bc they self destruct.

guns save lives why ban them?
criminals will allways be able to get drugs and guns even if they are illegal.weapons are easy to make knives explosives ect.even if banned.
i know if a criminal breaks into my house. my wife and i can defend ourself with a gun to save our lives and our childrens. i dont like the thought of my wife home alone with out a gun.
how would her 120lb person defend herself againt a big male attacker or more then one person. the police are not depenable they may never even be called and or there responce time is normally very poor.
the key thing is gun safety know your weapon. know how to use it ,when to use it, and store it.
as for plasic guns you can not buy them they just arnt made for sale. the glock has plastic in the frame but will never pass a airport x ray machine.
they can be made from stuff bought at home depot  or such but wouldnt frire more then a couple of times and would have to have been reloaded each shot or two.

as for the ceramic guns there were some special ones made for reasearch only very limited quantity. some may have leaked or been made for some goverment agencies but  they will break after 6 to 7 shot max if that most breaking after2-3 . and were never made available to anyone else.
i would like people to think about ceramic knives and plastic kinves this is were the danger lies with airport safety. i own a ceramic knive and plasic knive i could walk right threw a Metal Detector. you cant ban plasic knives think about picnics and taco bell ect your knive there would be illegal they can also be made from nearly anything plasic.what would work is  we need to accept and use the new body scan type of detectors at airports.
